Our Story

How Nyxara came to be

Nyxara grew out of a recurring frustration: product teams spending months building voice features only to find the spoken experience felt awkward, incomplete, or off-brand. The design had focused on the visual — the voice was an afterthought.

We started as a small group of conversation designers and product people based in Kuala Lumpur. Over time we developed a way of working that begins with how something should be spoken, and works outward from there. The approach is discussion-led, documentation-heavy, and scoped to fit teams at different stages of readiness.

Today Nyxara works with product owners, design leads, and development teams across Malaysia who are building thoughtful voice-driven features — whether that means a single spoken confirmation step or a multi-journey voice programme spanning several user flows.

Documentation clarity

Every deliverable we produce is reviewed against a plain-language standard. If a developer has to guess what something means, it goes back for revision.

Data and confidentiality

Client materials are kept strictly internal. We support NDA agreements for any engagement and do not share work or reference client projects without permission.

Accessibility standards

Voice interfaces have direct implications for users with visual impairments or motor difficulties. We include accessibility checkpoints in every design review.

Iterative review cycles

We build review sessions into each engagement so you can raise concerns before a script is finalised, not after handover.

Technology-neutral design

We design interactions that are platform-agnostic. Our outputs work whether your team is building on Google Dialogflow, Amazon Lex, or a custom solution.

Voice Design in Malaysia

Spoken interaction design, done with intention

The market for voice-driven digital features in Malaysia is growing steadily — across fintech, e-commerce, government services, and consumer apps. Teams building these features often find that the visual design process doesn't transfer cleanly to spoken interactions. Conversations have different dynamics than screens: they unfold in time, they depend on short-term memory, and they can fail in ways that visual interfaces simply don't.

Nyxara fills a specific gap in that process. Rather than offering broad UX consulting, we focus narrowly on how spoken interactions should be structured — what the system says, when, and how it handles the unexpected. That focus allows us to go deeper than a generalist team would, and to produce documentation that is genuinely ready for a development handover.

We are based at Q Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, which puts us close to many of the product teams we work with. Remote collaboration is equally straightforward. Our services are structured to suit teams at different stages — from a short consultation for teams still deciding, through to a multi-flow programme for teams ready to scale their voice capabilities.
